What does SLSpiHost do and what is the effect of the process disappearing?

We saw this happening right before a server reboot. It might be that this fairly new process is not being shut down properly and it appears crashing.
There was indeed an issue that sounds similar in versions before 10.2.5, see release note 32818.
So the solution is to get the service registered.
Is it as simple as running the Register DataMiner as Service.bat ?

The SLSpiHost process was introduced in DataMiner 10.2.0 (link to release note)
The process performs all processing with regard to system performance indicators (SPIs).
I'm not too sure what the impact is of the process disappearing.

If SLSpiHost crashed this should have minimal impact on the operational status of your DataMiner system. Typically SLSpiHost crashes are related to NATS issues, which could affect the proper functioning of your DMS so I would advise further investigating that.
