Using the options field in visio I am able to open a view in a new card using "OpenInNewCard" but is there a visio option to force a new card to open undocked regardless of user settings?
Posting an answer so that I can add a screenshot..
I had a similar question here, Steve, but for a pop-up generation on click:
https://community.dataminer.services/question/visual-overview-open-a-view-object-in-a-resizable-pop-up-window-ideally-that-can-be-docked/?hilite=target+blank
If you need the "undocked", I'd just teach operators to "shift-click" as advised by Michiel: that's standard Cube functionality, no Visio config required, so worth making it known for any user in your system.
If the pop-up is applicable to your use-case, see Jarno's suggestion here:
HTH
Hi Steve, in addition to the suggestions from Jarno, it may be good to know that a shift-click action will always open the card undocked, both from visual overview as well as from the surveyor.
Hi Steve, I'm afraid this is not possible as far as I know. You can right-click on the shape and from there you can open the undocked window.
Another option would be to use the VdxPage shape data in combination with the Window attribute. Upon clicking the shape that has the shape data, you will find all Visual Overview pages of this view. You won't have the extra controls, however.
Element: * (or View: *)
VdxPage: |window
LinkOptions: WindowStyle=SingleBorderWindow|Width=999|Height=999
Does it need to be new undocked card? Or could it also be a pop-up window?
