Hi Dojo,
Is there any shortcut to export/import the server list once it has been defined for a CUBE desktop client?
Adding many servers in CUBE, manually, can become quite a lengthy process
(e.g. working with different clusters... OU vs Fixed Services, staging VS prod),
so I'm looking for a way to automate the Cube set-up across different Windows clients.
On each Cube client, I'd like to have a quick way to select each single server in each cluster
(this helps when checking sync settings across the DMS, e.g. all views in place,
elements seen from all agents and so on), hence the question: once the first CUBE client is configured, can I export the server list on other clients?
Ideally, could I just manipulate some sort of xml to get the first Cube configured
(e.g. adding 10-15 servers at once)?
Thanks
PS: In such a scenario, together with the Cube app, I'm used to rely also on browser bookmarks, as these can be easily imported once created: up to now, Chrome works fine as described here
I know the desktop app is the only solution officially supported, so I want to stick to it
(IE days are over), but for the time being I still tend to rely on Chrome and the browser XBAP app:
I couldn't achieve the same set-up with Edge in my environment - I believe my Edge issue is similar to the one in Marieke's post.
Hi Alberto,
You can find the configuration file of all agents in your local appdata (%localappdata%\Skyline\DataMiner\DataMinerCube\CubeLauncherConfig.json). You can change the file or copy it to other systems.
Let us know if this solves your problem.
Thanks to both – upvoted the suggestion & added a couple that are related:
In the meantime I’ll try to rely on the path suggested by Michiel – my problem is that the %localappdata% is going to be different on each environment
(Azure Desktop / Win10 native clients / NOC clients) so if the feature linked by Jens is added in DM, it’s going to be a massive help in future.
Hi Alberto, You can vote for below feature request to have an easy way to share this in your organization.
