When a password expires for a local DataMiner user, Cube shows a dialog to change the password:
However, when a password expires for a Domain user, this dialog is not shown, Cube responds with "Incorrect user name or password".
Is renewing a password via Cube is not supported for domain users? Is there a way to enable this functionality?
Thanks.
The question is edited. There is apparently the same behavior in DataMiner 9.6 and in DataMiner X. Local users are allowed to update passwords, but domain users seem to be unable to do the same.
This is expected behavior, DataMiner does not modify the password or any other field of a domain-user on the domain-controller itself. This also applies to the users imported from any other identity providers we support.
As an addition: if the local user has been marked as expired on Windows OS Level rather than on DataMiner level, trying to log on using that user will still fail and no option to change the password will be provided in Cube.
In this case, a message will be displayed indicating that “The password of your Windows account has expired. Please change it before logging in”. (as of v9.6 / RN20426/RN20633)
Apologies, my initial statements in this question are not correct. I’m editing the question now.
