Dear Skyline Teams,
I support several DMAs which are not connected to the Internet for security reasons.
What is the preferred way to get protocol driver updates if the update center is not an option because of lack of Internet connection?
Thanks
Jörg
Hi Jörg,
You can use an internet-connected client to download a .dmprotocol package from our Driver Catalog, which you can then copy to the DMAs that are not connected to the internet. (You can decide on the file transfer method. E.g. FTP, RDP, file sharing,...). The .dmprotocol package can then be installed on the local DataMiner servers.
Hi Jens,
Thanks so far, but not sure if I get it right:
By "internet-connected client" you mean a cube client which is logged in to the DMA in question? And then still via the update center?
Or do you mean just a browser to download from Driver Catalog? If so, in that case I am currently not able to find any download opportunity there.
I meant by using a browser from a client computer that is connected to the internet. But as Bert mentioned, apparently the catalog is only available for cloud-connected DataMiner systems. You’ll have to contact your Skyline contact to get the drivers.
Alright, got it, thanks for your support.
Small correction: It’s not possible to download a connector from the catalog, you can only deploy it once your DMS is cloud connected… You need to contact Skyline to get the latest version.
