Hi,

Currently investigating the ability to trace different actions in Dataminer (10.0)

Are any of these events logged in Dataminer?
– Access to an elements embedded web interface, it doesn’t seem to create an information event.
– Failed logins to Dataminer. Successful client connection creates an information event but I can’t find that unsuccessful connections are recorded in Dataminer i.e. Wrong username/password

Hi Roger,

There are no separate information events for users that access the web interface through DataMiner.
However, the system will generate an information event for every element that was accessed.
If a user that accesses an element has write permissions on that element, they can access the web interface.

By default, DataMiner doesn’t log failed authentication attempts.
However, this can be activated.

More information on how to set this up can be found under the “Configuration of DataMiner processes” section in the help.

Small side note, starting from DataMiner 10.1.8.0 or 10.2.0.0-CU0 the failed authentication attempts will be logged by default (unless explicitly disabled).
