We disabled average trending in the trend template for some parameters of an element which stopped trending completely (real time too) - see the gap below. Real time trending was left untouched in the trend template.
But after average trending was turned on, the trending came back as per above. Is this a known bug ? Thank you.

Michiel's findings are correct. The client doesn't bother with filling the gaps in the average data with real-time data. That means from a certain zoom level onwards (I believe it's 4 hours or more) you will see the average data if there is ANY available. That is, of course, if you have "show most detailed data" turned off.
Note that gaps in the real-time data WILL be filled with average points where applicable.
