How to use a Application package from Dataminer Catalog.

Hi Dojo,

Maybe a simple question, but how do you use a Application package what we deployed from the catalog. I try to use the follow steps from here.

I deployed the AppearTV X20 Platform application package, and tried to install this via the agent, but nothing happen.  I see that the package get stored in:

There is also no short instruction how to use the packages from the catalog. This is for multiple applications packages.

Hi Pascal,
Which DataMiner version are you using?
Are you installing the package by double clicking it, or are you trying to install it using the Client Test tool?

Hi Miguel,

Dataminer version 10.4.3.
I’m not sure what you mean with double clicking, as the package is direct visible and unpacked in the folder as I mention above.

Hi Pascal

Most of the time a package from the catalog will just upload connectors, scripts, visio’s, …. I see in the screenshot that you deployed a package from AppearTV X20 Platform. Unfortunately there is indeed not a lot of information visible for packages yet, but based on the descriptions of the versions, it installs the connector and some example scripts.

Some packages like IDP will also do element creation but those are less common.

Thanks for your answer.
Only we cannot see if the installs of the example scrips is correct, as we don’t see them in the automation scrips menu in cube.

Hi Pascal
I had a quick look and indeed the scripts aren’t installed. I noticed that the package contained an old NuGet dll that didn’t properly support everything yet.
I’m in the process with the original developer to get this fixed and release a new version of that package.
