How does the licensing scheme of DIS work?
Does the license need to be purchased for each user, or is everyone that is registered on the portal entitled to a DIS license?
DIS is available as a right-to-use license for named individuals. The associated license (DMS-DIS-DEV) is charged per developer per year, and is a named individual license (linked to the DCP login account of the named individual) that cannot be shared with other developers.
One DMS-DIS-DEV license is available free of charge for each customer, so they can use DIS to develop drivers for their own DataMiner Systems. Additional DIS license seats can be ordered in case customers have multiple developers working on DataMiner Drivers.
A single individual can use a single DIS right-to-use license to install DIS on multiple client computers. In other words, one DCP account can be used for multiple DIS installations on multiple client computers (e.g. a desktop and a laptop).
Hi Filiep,
A DIS license is charged per user per year. One user license is free of charge available for anybody who owns a DataMiner System.
