DMA Local Cassandra Database Migration to Cassandra Cluster

Hi dojo,

What is the recommended practice for migrating DMA local Cassandra database to Cassandra cluster for 2 failover pair (4 DMAs) with version 10.3 and Cassandra version 3.7?

The cluster will be on Ubuntu, does it need the same Cassandra version or can install higher or latest release?

Sidenote: soon it will also be possible to migrate to DataMiner StaaS in our dataminer.services cloud. Then you no longer have to worry about managing such a cluster yourself. More info can be found here: https://community.dataminer.services/dataminer-staas-a-game-changer-for-your-storage-needs/

The procedure for migrating to Cassandra cluster is the same for SQL databases and Cassandra databases, the source database does not have to run the same Cassandra version as on the Cassandra cluster. However, the recommended version of the Cassandra Cluster is 4.0.

In case of a failover setup, only data on the online DMA is migrated.
Please follow this procedure: Migrating the general database to a DMS Cassandra cluster | DataMiner Docs
