Discovery Failed while monitoring Linux host

We have a case where monitoring Linux server via the Linux SNMP Platform connector results in below errors:

Could this error message be please further clarified --> "Discovery Failed"

Small question, are you polling the Linux server via SNMPv3?

Yes, using version 3.

Hi,

"DISCOVERY FAILED" basically means that DataMiner tries to set up a connection with the SNMPv3 device, but is not able to do this. There could be different causes to end up in such a situation e.g., host name could not be resolved into an IP address, the device is not replying to the initial request to get the Engine ID (device is not reachable), credentials are wrong,...

In DataMiner 10.4.4.0 this message has been changed to give a more clear idea of what the current underlying problem is that leads to the timeout.
