Hi.

From our Extranet we wish to access (integrate)  dashboards created from within DMA Dashboard.

Can anyone advise which interface document i can use for that purpose?

regarding: authentification, session, security, acces limit, ...

BR.

Hi Dang-Khoa,

There are multiple ways of doing this.

  1. Direct access
This could be through port forwarding or by a proxy server of port 80 or 433 (see docs for more info on ports). It is advised to ensure websockets are working(for proxy/Loadbalancers extra config might be needed). The application can also work without, but you will have a better experience with websockets.
  2. Dashboard Gateway Server
You can also make use of a Dashboard Gateway server. This server will host the dashboard application and then use a connection toward the DMA (default port 8004). More information on this topic on our docs.
  3. Cloud Connection
With this option, you make your DataMiner system cloud connected. It means that at least one of your DMA's of the cluster will need access towards our cloud platform. Once cloud connected, you will have a couple of features, one of them is Dashboard sharing. It basically means that you can provide a link to someone, who can then access the dashboard through our cloud platform (they are not directly connected to your system). For more information on how dashboard sharing works, I suggest watching this video. For info on security: Cloud connectivity and security | DataMiner Docs

We will use Dashboard Gateway.
Do you have a use case which would help ?

Hi Dang-Khoa, I’d suggest you give a try to option 3, Dashboard Live Sharing Service using Cloud Connection.
https://docs.dataminer.services/user-guide/Cloud_Platform/Sharing/Sharing.html
First, it is very easy to set up, no need for an extra GW server. Second, no need to worry about securing the gateway because security is already built in. Third, you can control access to each dashboard individually with the option to add expiration date to the link that gives access to the dashboard. More benefits will continue being rolled out in coming DataMiner and Cloud Connection releases. Regards.

If you want to use the Dashboard Gateway, you can try to follow the steps in the docs to install it. If certain steps would not be clear, feel free to ask more questions on our platform or you could also check with our sales team to have someone that supports you from our side to do the installation.

A 4th option would be to also use the cloud connection, but with Remote Access to the Dashboards App. (or other web apps) Here you need a DCP account and still also a dataminer account to access the web app. More info on the docs: https://docs.dataminer.services/user-guide/Cloud_Platform/RemoteAccess/Cloud_Remote_Access.html
