Is it possible to setup a DataMiner failover pair WITHOUT a virtual IP. Use case is to setup a failover pair with each DMA in a different physical location where there is a restriction on the IP addresses used in each location. So can the failover pair be setup knowing that the IP will change when failing over.
Hi Cyrus, to my knowledge it is currently not feasible to setup a DMA Failover Pair without the use of a virtual IP. In the case of different physical location what typically is done for a Failover setup, is to setup a stretched VLAN. This is needed because the Main and the Backup agent need to be in the same subnet. However, they are working on new features in the software which would allow the setup of a failover pair without a virtual IP. Starting from DataMiner 10.1.2 this will be supported.
Currently, this is not possible.

Stay tuned...
