Which third-party products are currently already integrated in the DataMiner PTP app? And is it possible to add new ones? And what is the process, do I need to get a new version of the PTP app if a new product needs to be supported?
The currently supported third-party products are:
- PTP Grand Masters:
Meinberg Lantime M3000
Tektronix SPG8000
Evertz 5700MSC - PTP Transparent/Boundary Clocks:
Arista switches
Cisco Nexus switches - PTP Slaves/Analyzers:
Lawo Power Core
Lawo HD Core Ravenna
Imagine Communications Selenio Network Processor
To add support for a product to the DataMiner PTP app, the Standard DataMiner PTP Device mediation driver needs to be updated.
When a new version of the PTP app is released, it will include the latest version of the mediation driver at that time.
This means that installing the latest version of the PTP app doesn't guarantee that you have the latest version of the mediation layer (a new mediation driver version could have been created since the release of the latest PTP app). Updating this mediation layer, however, is as simple as updating a DataMiner driver and doesn't even require the involved elements to restart.
Hi Didier, You are right, the Ross Video Newt is also supported, but it is not exposing it’s PTP Grandmaster it is connected to. Because of this, it was not listed in the above list.
Hi Matthijs, I believe Ross Video Newt is also currently supported, right ?
