What does the acronym LFP stand for?
How does it work in DataMiner? I read an article about starting DataMiner with or without LFP but how does that actually work?

Hi, it stands for LogFileParser, in the beginning of the tool it was used to scan some DataMiner logfiles for certain keywords so we get alarmed automatically when something was not correct.
It evolved as an internal tool we use in QA to monitor our servers based on slwatchdog2 file. It's deprecated and replaced by LFPMonitorAPI (more information is available about this on our internal wiki).
