We have visual overviews that their load time are inconsistent and user interactive automation scripts that are triggered from them coming up with the interactive information are inconsistent, how do I narrow down if it's client or server related, and anything else that can be checked to benchmark things etc.
I've had an initial look with a follow on the client test tool for the visual overview side, and can see there's a 13 second delay between custom properties being returned and parameters being returned; the timestamp on both are the same, so that would suggest the properties are getting returned straight away, but the parameters are taking 13 seconds server side to return.
From a different server that is more lightly loaded I am seeing that the parameter response is less than 80ms, even though one of the elements exists on the server that it takes 13 seconds to load on, when the client is connected to it, and neither of the two elements on the visual overview exist on this server.
I'm guessing from this point that the process that sends information to the client is getting delayed, unlike the process/s that return properties and parameter values to a different server that a client is connected to.
As this question has been inactive for a long time, and it doesn't look like an answer is still needed, I have added this pro forma answer so that we can mark it as resolved.
Hi Philip, Your observations seems thorough and accurate. I would suggest reaching out to us directly though as this seems hard to fix/analyze over dojo.
