‘View Impact changed’ alarms

Hi,

In DataMiner 9.6 CU23, we noticed a few alarms whose alarm type was 'View Impact changed'. These were actually old alarms that never cleared.
Checking the release notes, we noticed that System Center->Agents->System->System info was empty, so we filled that. The issue reoccurred 2 days later but never after that. How it occurred after 2 days is still a mystery. Screenshot taken from Release notes of 9.6 CU23:

Hence, how can I check if the root cause was indeed the System Info being empty ? Even if that was the root cause, how is it that the issue occurred after 2 days and never again ?

Hi Arunkrishna,

I've had a few occurrencies as well, I'm now running 9.6 CU 24 - didn't pay too much attention as I'm led to think this Alarm Type can be induced by adding elements with an existing alarm also on a new dedicated view: e.g. in my use-case I was adding elements linked to devices running on a given software release also into a new view for sw management purposes - this changed the "New Alarm" into "View Impact Changed" and perhaps into "Service Impact Changed", where elements were also included in Services: in your case, might it be that the containing view was moved or an element was added on an additional view?

Curious about the behaviour in 10 - any other feedback from other admins on Dojo?

HTH,
A.
