Hi,
We are looking to delete DataMiner users, however, some users appear greyed out and when we right click to delete, the delete option is also greyed out. Any idea why this is the case and how do we delete these users from our system?

Hi Tom,
You cannot delete this user because it is an “automatically added domain user”.
These users are automatically created in DataMiner when a domain group is added.
Since these accounts are managed by the domain, they cannot be removed directly from DataMiner.
To remove the user, either:
- remove the user from the corresponding domain group on the domain controller
- remove the domain group from DataMiner.
More info can be found here
I should also add that this is only an issue in our staging system. In our tactical and production DMS every user is able to be deleted via right click.
Is it possible to just delete the users from the Skyline DataMiner/Users folder on the DMA server? Will that affect anything else?

Hi Tom,
This folder only contains some user settings, so it won't have any effect on the user itself.
Can you check on the groups page which groups this user is member of? If that user is part of a group which is linked to a domain group, then you need to ask IT to get this user removed from that domain group.
The fact that the user icon is grey, means that the user is automatically added because the user was added to a domain group and that domain group is added to dataminer.

Hi Ive, not quite sure that's it as we add all our users manually via specific IT service requests. There is no automatic operation in place that adds users to our DataMiner system without manual intervention.
