For combining a parameter control table and a filter we should create a group of two shapes.
What is the best way to have the table stretched in a grid layout and the filter on the top right above the table?
Can we assign the layout tag on the table and filter sub-shapes separately?

Currently a grid only exists for the top-level shapes. This means you're only able to use the Layout tag on the group and not the sub shapes.
In order to have a table with the search box on top you can stretch the group so that it covers the entire area.
It could look something like this:
