We have a customer who would like to rename different elements according to a file (probably .csv) and the pivot will be the IP address of each device.
After that, they would like to reapply the Contribution Service Template changing the name of the affected elements.
Is it possible to automatize both activities via script?
I'm indeed wondering here if we can't use immediately the csv export AND import functionality?
As long as you do not touch the element ID it will "update" the found element with that ID. In your use case you might be able to change the name but you need to leave all other columns as they are?
Another question here from my side as well: the contribution service template which source is this using? If it's also a csv file then we can just adapt both csv files, first upload the element name changes and then reapply the service template

– Do we know if these elements were provisioning via IDP?
