Redundancy configuration for XTRT-400K

Hi all,

In the following system, using the connector Xicom Technology XTRT-400K, how should the redundancy page be configured given that we already have the 3 amplifiers in DataMiner?

Also, is it normal that the waveguide switch 2 does not allow to change the position?

Thanks.

I'd possibly try if a the definition of a redundancy group in DM can fit your use-case and related visuals. Will try to post something later

Is this the device?

Disclaimer: I'm not an expert on the XTRT-400K so I just suggest this as a test.

I see you posted the device GUI - based on online info, I think the device has native redundancy support built into the amplifier platform - so that "redundancy" field
should have a 1:1 and 1:2 redundant configurations in the tile-down menu.

How you configure this will depending on the operational scenario you have locally for your service - I think the logic allows to control the associated waveguide switches without requiring an external redundancy controller.

From a DataMiner perspective, I would generally recommend:

  • Create a separate element for each physical XTRT amplifier.
  • If you want operators to interact with a single logical service, place the amplifiers in a DataMiner redundancy group and configure the switching detection based on the parameter(s) that indicate which amplifier is currently active.
  • Use the amplifier’s native redundancy mechanism as the primary source of truth and let DataMiner monitor the resulting active/standby status rather than trying to perform the RF switching itself.
  • If automatic switchover visibility is required, expose and monitor the active amplifier / redundancy status parameters in the connector and use those parameters in the redundancy group's switching detection logic.

Based on the screenshot, the XTRT-400K unit appears to be configured in a 1:2
("One for Two")
redundancy mode - is this the final config?

In this configuration, I'd expect the amplifier platform to manage the redundancy internally - so perhaps the "redundancy group" within the DM layer could be not needed.

As for not being allowed to change the position, I see that on the right you have "Auto-switch Ready"  you'd have to check the manual -  this might be intended behaviour for that specific mode.
