Hi Dojo,
We are building a Process Automation flow and are wondering how far we can include some of the IDP activities? The one we would like to include is for creating/provisioning an element based on CI Type and IP address. Is this possible?
The IDP activities were initially designed as resource-related tasks for PA versions prior to 1.3. They possess unique interface specifications distinct from the current IN and OUT standards recommended for PA 1.3 and later. Consequently, their integration with other activities in PA 1.3 and beyond may pose challenges in terms of reusability.
Nevertheless, we have introduced script task activities aimed at facilitating the provisioning of elements and executing rack assignments. These activities align seamlessly with PA 1.3 guidelines, and I am confident they can be of assistance to you.
For more detailed information, I will share the specifics with you via email.
Hi Jens,
Yes, it should be possible to do what you are after.
IDP Activities are "modular" and can be included in other Process Automation flows, being just a single activity or multiple ones.
You can see an example with the IS-04 integration
