Skyline already has a couple of thousand existing drivers available for a variety of products in the industry. If by any chance I need a driver which is not existing yet, do I get an additional bill for a new development or how does that work ?
Skyline Communications does not charge additional non-recurring engineering (NRE) fees for drivers that still need to be developed. DataMiner Drivers can be purchased at a fixed license fee, to interface a DataMiner System with any device or system from any vendor, irrespective of the interface required and irrespective whether the driver already exists or still needs to be developed.
Also important to note, is that the license cost is a fixed fee and hence independent of the number of objects managed of that specific type, and independent of the number of DMAs.
Just adding for sake of clarity: Skyline will develop new drivers where ever needed, so as a user you can just order any driver from Skyline and the price will not be different depending on whether or not it still has to be developed. And of course, also important to note, is that you are not obliged to purchase drivers from Skyline. DataMiner interface drivers are completely open, so anybody can design and develop new interface drivers for a DataMiner System.
