multiple mobile gateways

There are 3 different providers and 3 different mobile protocols to send sms.
The sms commands will get responses from different remote devices which will need to be parsed and handled.

To me this seems to go beyond what is intended with the 'mobile gateway':  sending notifications and responding to third party commands.

Here we will be polling data from devices over sms.
Can you confirm that a driver is better suited for this use-case?

Second I wonder if we should see the mobile gateway as a separate element, only sending commands and receiving responses, which are then handled by a 'handler' connector tailored for the type of end device?

Hi Jeroen,

This has nothing to do with the 'mobile gateway' module in DataMiner but this is connector work... This is not about notifying users or getting instructions from users, here you are talking about data acquisition and that should go in a connector.

Second part of your question might depend a bit on the details... Feel free to reach out to discuss this part in more detail.

Bert
