Hi all,
Is it possible to upgrade or deploy multiple DxMs with just one click?
Thanks.
Hi,
At the moment this is not possible. This was previously a feature that we had to pull due to some technical restrictions. We intend to eventually support again, as it is on our roadmap to work on DxM's.
Kind regards,

Hi Alberto,
There are three kinds of "dependencies" for DxM's:
1) .NET version: several DxM's have a dependency on .NET 6 or 8.
This is a dependency that needs to be handled outside of the DxM installation process.
2) DataMiner version: CloudFeed 1.4.0 or higher has a dependency on dataminer version 10.4.10 (this is exceptional).
Also this dependency can't / won't be treated automatically when installing or updating the DxM.
3) DxM: Architecturally, the DxM's are independent from each other, they can be installed and updated separately. Though, you're right, it's possible that they have no "functional value" by themselves and are as such "linked". E.g. FieldControl relies on CoreGateway – we could take this into account and update both at once, though (re)introducing a generic "Update all" would already cover this case as well.

Thanks for this, Brecht – will keep in mind for our set-up

P.S. Any ETA on reintroducing "Update All"? And could this work also across "all DMAs" at once for the Cloud-Connected agents of a cluster?
A "Deploy All" would also help when new DxM's are added (e.g. 10.5 had a few new packages we didn't use in 10.3)
Just back from a one-by-one "update" of each DxM in a cluster with 40+ DMAs – Only CloudFeed was aligned in my case – all the other packages required individual action

Hi Alberto,
Multiple improvements on DxM's are on our backlog. Currently not at the very top of our priorities, but still pretty high up. I'd like to focus on it in the first half of 2026 – and as a Product Owner I need to add: that is not a promise, priorities can still shift! 🙂
We first want to improve the stability of DxM installations in general: we've noticed Windows doesn't always swallow multiple DxM installations / updates in parallel very well.
The idea is to handle that from cloud side: queue the DxM installations and feed them one by one to Windows, monitor their progress, retry in case of failure, rollback after multiple failed installations …
Just to get the necessary peace of mind before we (re)introduce a "bulk update" button for all DxM's & for all nodes, which should then only be a snap of the finger away. 😉
Hi Edson,
No, this is not possible. You need to manually select and upgrade each DxM individually. However, in some cases, a DataMiner upgrade will also upgrade certain DxMs automatically, but you will still need to manually upgrade the rest if you want all of them updated.
Is it possible to give the option when upgrading one DxM, to automatically include all the ones that are linked or have a dependency?
