I am trying to write a connector to poll a device using SNMP v3 and I need to pass a different contextName value in the get request in order to access different parts of the MIB from a common IP address. Unfortunately I can't seem to find anyway in the connector documentation to specify the contextName in the SNMP request. A wireshark capture shows that DataMiner is just sending a blank or missing value for that field in the packet.
Is there anyway of specifying the contextName to be used?
Ideally I would like to to be able to change it dynamically, (similar to how you can change the community string value used in an SNMP v1/v2 connector by using a parameter with the <SNMP options="GetCommunity:0"> tag)
Hi,
This is currently not supported with the existing syntax.
A feature suggestion can be submitted here: DataMiner Feature Suggestions - DataMiner Dojo
Regards,

I'm happy to share this will be possible with DataMiner 10.5.6, expected on May 16th. See the release note here: https://docs.dataminer.services/release-notes/General/General_Feature_Release_10.5/General_Feature_Release_10.5.6.html#snmpv3-parameter-value-can-now-be-used-as-context-name-or-context-id-when-executing-an-snmp-get-or-set-command-id-42676
Thanks for the confirmation Laurens. As suggested I have submitted a feature suggestion for it to be added.
