Hi,
To install the latest available (main) release Dataminer 10.3 CU8 on a new DMA, do we first need to use DataMiner Installer v10.2 and then upgrade directly to DataMiner Main Release 10.3.0.0 – 13465 CU8? Or is there an upgrade step between?

Yes, it should be fine to start with the 10.2 Installer and then to upgrade to 10.3.0.0 CU8, to go for consecutive Major releases is supported unless some stated otherwise, we do not recommend is to jump over Major versions, for example 10.1 to 10.3.
