sample of data miner used in power grids
Hi Mark,
DataMiner is typically used for IT and OT (Operational Technology), across a wide range of different businesses engaged in manufacturing, transportation, utility, mining, media, telco, HFC, satellite, etc. This typically includes interfacing with routers, switches, servers, industrial type of control systems, SCADA solutions, PLCs, VSAT (satellite links - typically for more distributed remote sites), environmental (PDUs, sensors, generators, solar, water, etc.).
Here's a sample with some screens: Technical Infrastructure Use Case - Energy Management - DataMiner Dojo
Note that you could make it look any way you want and need. Ultimately the underlying use cases are all very similar and it is really more about the functions provided by DataMiner (i.e. powerful data acquisition to ensure that you can talk to any data source leveraging anything from standard SNMP to Modbus TCP just to name two, fault management functions, trending and performance management, Visual Overview (powered by MS Visio graphic designs), dashboards, and much more). In general, it is about managing complex operational systems. For sake of clarity, while we manage the IT/OT ecosystem, we are not managing the power grid itself, those are typically bespoke tools.
