Hello Dojo,

I want to assess the general health of a few Dataminer Agents.
Besides memory leaks, disk space, and processor load, what are the essential points that should be checked? Or things that from experience usually give us a warning that something could be wrong.

Hi Ana,

Some other things that come to mind:

  • Check the SLWatchdog2 log file for toggling halfopen RTEs or open RTEs. It might be that you don’t notice these in the alarm console (especially if they never become a full RTE/thread problem) but they might indicate a problem in your system.
  • Check the SLErrors log file. This log file contains all errors across all DataMiner modules and thus is an interesting file to get an overview of errors happening in your system.
  • Run the BPA tests: Running BPA Tests | DataMiner Docs.
