Since 2023-09-12 we have been observing several DNMA elements reporting Failed Southbound SNMP Communication, citing Incorrect Trap Received. Multiple sites have been affected.
We would like to know what message triggers this kind of Notice, as other traps seem to have been received.
"Incorrect trap received from 10.X.XX.25: Possible impacted (SNMPv3) elements:
Generic Trap Receiver SNMPv3(117605/689)"
Hi,
Most likely the configuration is active to enable notifications in case SNMPv3 traps cannot be processed? See here
There's a large chance that authentication is failing. Looking at the errors log file of the DMA that is generating the notices (System Center -> Logging -> dataminer -> <agentname> -> Errors) could provide more info, this is probably an error formatted like "Callback error for SNMP++" that contains a description.
Regards,
Hi.
This is often, (but not always) caused by invalid SNMPv3 credentials. Possibly these changed at the time from when you see these notices.
