Embedded Browser Credentials

Hi Dojo,

Is there a way to pass login credentials to web page embedded within a Visio?

I can see that there are ways of passing Dataminer login credentials, but is there a way to manually specify user/password in the shape options or work with a browser’s “save credentials” functionality?

Hi Dave,

Great question. As far as I know this is currently not possible.

Do note that we need to take the security aspect into account here as Visio files will contain the credentials in plain text. The Visio file is sent to the client so each user would be able to sniff out the password if they really wanted to.

Perhaps an implementation through the credential manager of DataMiner would be a more fitting approach. Feel free to suggest this as a new feature or request this through your Skyline contact.

Thanks Sebastiaan
I had overlooked the security aspect, but the suggestion of requesting it to be implemented to the credential manager is a good one.

For the community, here is the feature suggestion: Use credentials library for web pages – DataMiner Dojo (https://community.dataminer.services/new-feature-suggestions/use-credentials-library-for-web-pages/)
