Elements timing out, but still show that they are connected

We using DataMiner to monitor some switching equipment, but they seem to be timing out. The weirdest thing is that they show that they are connected, or what I’m assuming is a connecting (from the green indicator). Would there be another reason that they are timing out?Timed-out.PNG

Hi Alexander – your elements are effectively in time-out state (orange x).  The green indicator is the alarm status of the element, and when an element is in time-out state (orange x) this simply shows the last known alarm state (from before it went into time-out).  The green indicator is not an indication that it is connected.

A time-out can be caused by many things.  I would start by pinging the IP address of the switches, and ideally you would do that from the DataMiner Agent (you can open a remote desktop to the DataMiner Agent), to ensure that there is no IP connectivity issue to start with.
