Do non-swarmable elements continue working normally in a Swarming-enabled cluster?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to enable Swarming on one DataMiner cluster to handle element migration when DMAs go offline. However, we have a mix of basic elements (which are swarmable) and other element types that aren’t swarmable yet.

My question: If I enable Swarming for the entire cluster, will non-swarmable elements (services, etc.) continue to function normally as long as they remain on their original DMA? Or does enabling Swarming affect their operation in any way?

I’ve read through the documentation about what’s swarmable and what isn’t, but I couldn’t find explicit confirmation that non-swarmable elements will be unaffected. I just want to make sure I won’t break anything when turning on this feature.

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Hi Miguel,

On a system with Swarming enabled, non-swarmable elements keep on working as before.

The only restriction is that they cannot be swarmed to another host.
