dataminer.services – DMS URL – characters allowed

Hi all,

When spinning up a new DaaS, a DataMiner System Url can be chosen. I notice that specific characters are filtered out from the DataMiner System name.

Is there a list of characters available that are not allowed to be used into the DataMiner System URL? Or should I conclude that no special characters are allowed at all (such as .,_-)

Hi,

A quick test makes me believe that only lowercase alphanumerical characters (a-z, 0-9) are allowed.

Correct, as it’s used in the dns of a url it wouldn’t technically be possible to use special characters.

Another limitation is that it cannot exist of only numbers.
