DataMiner Backup – Full Backup with remote Cassandra and Elastic DB

When we have a setup with a remote Cassandra DB and Elastic DB, and on a regular base we do a ‘Full Backup’ with the DataMiner Backup module. I assume this doesn’t then also take care of the backup for the Cassandra and Elastic?

In case my assumptions are correct, are there any tools recommended to get this job done?

Hi Stacey,

When using external databases you’ll have to use the standalone Cassandra backup and standalone Elastic backup tools.

Not sure if it is relevant, but just for sake of completeness: one has to probably take into account also that there is already duplication of data when it is stored. Depending on the exact set-up, data will typically go into two or more nodes, so loosing a node in the storage cluster does not result in loss off data.
