I upgraded Dataminer 10 to feature release 10.1.8 and the feature to create a dashboard App does appears to not work. I get the following image.
Randy, if you open the F12 debugger of the web browser, do you see any error messages in the console?
Hi Wim. I do see an a few error message.
/API/v1/Internal.asmx/GetApplications:1 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 /API/v1/Internal.asmx/GetApplications:1
The custom application framework has had a big update in 10.1.6. As the custom application framework is still under soft launch and hasn't been released yet, this update isn't backwards compatible. If you had created custom apps before, then you might have to delete any "DynamicApplications" in the applications.json file.
Thank you Wim! That solved my problem. I was using the softlaunch feature and many of my dashboards were created prior to 10.1.6.
Hi Randy,
I tested in 10.1.8.0 and I was not able to reproduce this issue. However, I saw this issue in the past and it was related to a missing file in the folder C:\Skyline DataMiner\Applications. Can you check if the file Applications.json is available in this folder? And if it is available, can you check that the file is not empty?
The content of the file should be '{}' (without the quotes)
Hi Miguel,
is the new Reports&Dashboards also already released in the main release?
Hi Stefan,
I am afraid that this feature is still not available in the main release.
In order to enable this feature please follow the steps indicated in this article:
https://community.dataminer.services/documentation/soft-launch-options/
This feature can be enabled by adding the tag ‘Applications’ in the file SoftLaunchOptions.xml
Hi Miguel,
I do see the Applications.json file and it is not empty.
Randy – Could you share more info on the setup? I have tested the Dashboards app on 10.1.8 and everything seems normal
