Hi,
If disaster strikes and we loose all data in a Cassandra cluster, have no backup and need to start from scratch, will that have any impact on the elements on the DMA:s appart from losing trend data and certain element settings? Will DataMiner continue to store new trend data to the cluster once it up again or will they fail to do so because there's no previous record of the element in the database?
The same question also goes for the OpenSearch cluster.
Hi Roger,
You would indeed loose the trend and alarm history, and also saved parameter will be lost (=this might contain some element settings). But apart from that, I believe that should work just fine. Small sidenote is that the alarm IDs would also start from 1 again.
OpenSearch might also contain other data like DOM data or bookings, but if you don't use that, then no worries.
If you want to make sure your data is always safely stored on at least 3 different locations and protected with 30 days of backups, then you definitely need to look at STaaS, then you never ever have to worry about your data...
