Alarms incohérence within a driver protocol

Hi there, using an Harmonic NMX (encoder platform mgmt soft) protocol which is reporting alarms from any device attached to NMX.

Now, even when there are no active alarms, still "General Parameters" [Number of active alarms] is showing the number of "2" and [Number of critical alarms] is showing the number of "1". Please check out the attached screenshot.

By the way, the number are the same for every element attached via NMX.

The Question is: what do theses numbers refer to? Obviously they do not represent the number of active alarms per se

Thx a lot for any help

KR

Dan

Hi Dan,

You are correct. The counters shown under GENERAL PARAMETERS should reflect the number of alarms in that element.

I noticed the Harmonic NMX generates Dynamic Virtual Elements (DVE). The connector defines the relationship between the alarms and each DVE. I suggest you contact your technical account manager and ask to have this connector reviewed by a system developer to fix any issues that may provoke this incoherence.

To proof this is a connector issue and not related to DataMiner software, I looked for an example where the parent element shows a different number of active alarms than the DVE element. See examples below:
