Introducing IDP 1.5.0: Simplified deployment, out-of-the-box discoveries, and more!

We're thrilled to announce IDP 1.5.0, a significant update for DataMiner Infrastructure Discovery Provisioning. This release simplifies the integration of any device or system into DataMiner, offering streamlined deployment processes and out-of-the-box discovery for common equipment.

Experience faster deployment with DataMiner IDP directly from the Catalog

We've enhanced the efficiency and convenience of deploying DataMiner IDP by eliminating the need for a DataMiner restart and enabling direct deployment from the Catalog. Getting started or keeping systems up-to-date with the latest IDP versions is now more straightforward than ever.

Starting from DataMiner version 10.4.0 or 10.4.3, you can deploy DataMiner IDP directly from the Catalog without restarting DataMiner. If you are using a DataMiner version lower than 10.4.0 or 10.4.3, upgrading your existing IDP installation is made easy with the IDP Migration package. Once updated, you can deploy the IDP package from the Catalog as well.

For detailed instructions, consult the updated Installing DataMiner IDP section in the DataMiner Docs.

Discover common equipment effortlessly using default CI types and connectors provided via the Catalog

IDP now comes with predefined default CI Types and discovery templates for various devices and systems, including AppearTV, Bridge Technologies, Cisco, Ericsson, Harmonic, Linux, Microsoft, NetInsight, and more. Refer to the complete list for specifics.

After running a discovery, elements are typically created for those devices. If you lack a connector on the system, IDP will direct you to the dedicated Catalog page so that you can immediately deploy the connector. Once deployed, you can continue the provisioning process and allow IDP to start creating elements for you.

And there's more!

We have two Kata sessions scheduled for April, focusing specifically on IDP. For a comprehensive list of changes and enhancements, you can always consult the release notes.
