Documentation news

Time for an update on our documentation, because there have been some big changes! The biggest has been the move of all release note documents, but there have also been several new additions.

Over the past couple of weeks, we have moved all the release note documents from Dojo to DataMiner docs. Aside from a lot of practical advantages, this change also comes with the following improvements:

  • DataMiner release notes are now also available for upcoming releases. We will update those “preview” pages as soon as we can with the release notes that get added to those releases. However, keep in mind that they will likely not be complete and things can change to them all the way up to the release date.
  • For new releases, you will now find the most important changes in a highlights section at the top of the page.
  • For new releases, Cube release notes will now be separated from general release notes, as recent Cube versions can also be installed separately from the DataMiner version installed on the server.

On top of that, we’ve also added a new section with comprehensive information on DataMiner Object Models (DOM), and there is a new Service & Resource Management Framework section with extensive info on the different SRM use cases and concepts, as well as on how to get started with SRM.

There have also been many other smaller changes and improvements, including the possibility to switch between a light and a dark theme. If you’re curious to find out more about what has changed, you can always take a look at the repository on GitHub. You can for instance check the list of recently closed pull requests to get an overview of the bulk of the changes.

And remember that you can propose changes too! You can create an issue to let us know about something that is missing or unclear, or you can propose changes directly via the “Improve this doc” link on every page of our documentation. We really appreciate all the feedback we get!

PS: Don’t forget to create a pull request when you propose changes! Otherwise, your changes may be lost.
