DataMiner Process Automation (PA) update – and what are DataMiner Object Models (DOM)?

Many media, broadband and ICT companies are in the middle of digital transformation programs. Programs are put in place to improve customer onboarding and experience, to onboard network inventory in a secure manner, to increase service quality, to optimize operational cost, to automate incident handling, to streamline planned maintenance across teams, and much more.

Various DataMiner applications exist to address each of those use cases. These applications are powered by two brand-new DataMiner modules that are currently being developed: DataMiner Process Automation (PA) and DataMiner Object Models (DOM).

DataMiner Object Models (DOM)

Any OSS/BSS application is only as good as the data it’s built on. That’s why data modeling is an important first step in any evolution or transformation program.

Data modeling is the process of creating logical representations of the data stored in an operation. For example, data models are required to describe things like customer-specific data, product catalog data, contract information, event calendars, rate cards for costing or billing, broadcast channel lineups, planned maintenance records, etc.

Organizations run on a vast variety of different data sets. DataMiner Object Models is a module that further facilitates the creation of those data sets, resilient storage of that data, life cycle management of the records, visualization of the records, and much more.

DataMiner Process Automation (PA)

On top of the management of data sets and their life cycle, the DataMiner Process Automation (PA) module adds behavior and automation. DataMiner PA not only automates repeat tasks, but also continuously facilitates simplifications and improvements to your existing workflows.

Data and process auditing and redesign is where the transformation starts. Modelling and automation is the technology that gets the transformation done. It drives efficiency and standardization, which in turn bring many business benefits, including increased productivity, lower costs, and higher revenues. All this ensures that you can deliver exceptional ICT media and broadband.

A new level of collaboration

In this fast-moving world, operations teams not only need to connect to teams within their organization, but also beyond their organization. Processes no longer end at the boundaries of organizations; on the contrary, they now span across entire industry value chains, and so do data sets. With DataMiner PA and DOM, a new level of collaboration can be achieved across business, IT and operations teams, using a rich set of DataMiner APIs.

Keep an eye on this blog, because soon we’ll take a closer look at the roadmaps of DataMiner Process Automation and DataMiner Object Models.
