We have a question (if you have some benchmarks) regarding the CPU Power on workstation needed to have Cube running smoothly when several Visios are open:
The CPU and RAM of the used Workstation is attached. Our NOC needs the 4in1Views that Richard created.
Here is what JF found out about the current situation using Cube in the NOC:
Initial status:
Outlook and Teams running:
CPU: less than 10%
RAM: 8.3/31.8 Gb (26%)
1st step: Run DM Cube
CPU: less than 10%
RAM: 28%
2nd step: Open in DM one 4in1 view
CPU: @65%
RAM: 31%
2nd step: Open in DM a second 4in1 view
CPU: 100%
RAM: 34%
3nd step: Open in DM a third 4in1 view
CPU: 100%
RAM: 36%
- DM becomes unresponsive
This heavily depends of course on the Visual Overviews (and the rest of the card content) you are opening.
The best thing to do would be to gather info about your setup and forward it to Skyline's data exploration product domain. The following things will help them figure it out:
- Visio files of the Visual Overviews in question (or even better, a ".dmimport" export of the Visual Overview owner objects in question).
- A video of the issue?
- The cube logging after the freeze detection popup shows (if the freeze does not resolve and you can't use cube to get the logging, you can find it in the local appdata of the client => AppData\Local\Skyline\DataMiner\DataMinerCube\CubeLogging.
Alternatively a dump of the process as the freeze occurs would also help.
Regardless of the info you are able to provide, they will be happy to collaborate with further to get to the bottom of it.
