Long term trending

Hello

Devices in DataMiner that have trending only show readings from the time of opening DM or for the last 24 hours in the trending app. How can I enable trending with another starting point?

You will need to enable average trending for those parameters in the trend template. There are several ways to change your trend template (assuming you have the necessary security rights):

  • In the element dropdown menu, go to protocols & templates => view trend template. You can do this from
    • Right click on an element
      or
    • Use the hamburger menu on the card (top left).
  • Go to apps => protocols & templates and select your protocol and version.
  • Drill down on your parameter, go to the templates tab.

Once average trending is enabled, the new parameter changes will be averaged every 5 minutes and every hour and added to the database. Once the records are old enough, you will be able to see more data than the last 24 hours.

Hello,

Not entirely sure whether your question was referring to the available trending data with “only show readings for the last 24 hours” or to the initial time range of the trend component.

Apart from the way the trending was configured to contain more or less data than the last 24 hours, you can specify a custom view range on the trend component as described in following RN27779.

Kind regards,
