Hi! So I've got a system where this was changed recently. The main question is if changing the time on a production license DMA cause any issue? For example, changing the server's time zone from EST to UTC or the other way.
This was tried with a demo license DMA and going from local to UTC to work with respect to the license but going the other way breaks the license and requires a new one. In 9.6CU23, after changing the time zone from local to UTC the surveyor is completely blank and then going to the user/group settings in cube and selecting groups/permissions/views the cube client crashes with a large number of pop-up error messages. Not sure why changing the time could cause this problem. Any ideas?
Hi Luis, it is correct that a demo license has a lot more verification points as compared to a production/permanent license. Once a verification point fails, the license will be broken. As mentioned in the other comment, this is mainly because demo licenses are time-limited.
So, in your case, a time check was performed of the server time against the demo license file. As the time check failed, the demo license got broken.
For a production license this is not a problem as those go together with a certain DataMiner version. For a demo license however it is because these expire after a certain amount of time, that is why extra checks are done so they can't be prolonged.
Hi Luis,
I would suggest to contact to the DataMiner Licensing Group (dataminer.licensing@skyline.be) to verify the demo license.
