Does DataMiner support RBAC or equivalent?
Yes, DataMiner supports RBAC (Role based access control). Security rights for groups of users (roles) are defined within DataMiner, users inherit rights from those groups that they are member of. Note: Groups are also available from your Active Directory or can be created in DataMiner separately (depending on whether the groups/roles matches up with what is available from the domain).
Groups/roles can be configured with a so-called system permissions (what kind of actions group members are allowed to perform, e.g. add element, delete element, change alarm thresholds, etc. – there are 200+ individual security rights), and what parts of the managed operational ecosystem they can access or restricted.
Hi Albert,
Rights in DataMiner are always Role-Based.
You define the rights on a user-group and assign the users to this group to grant them access to the DataMiner system.
(which users are assigned to a user group can be defined manually or retrieved from an LDAP server).
