TCP Port Check results (True/False or Failed/Successful) with Generic Ping Protocol?

Hi Dojo,

I'm currently able to perform TCP tests within the Generic Ping protocol,
but I haven't identified where the result (True/False) for a given port is displayed - wondering if I need to configure any other sections of the element - looks strange that I can set the port for the TCP test but I'm getting only the PING result - is it a TNC or some different command that is run by the protocol?

Aiming at generating a trend over time, especially where the port fails (a service crashed) but the ping is still nominal - any steer will be helpful.
Thanks

When executing a TCP test, success is measured in the connector similar to a standard ICMP ping i.e. in response time rather than a definitive True or False. If the specified port is not reachable you will get an the error "Exception During the Ping" displayed in the 'Ping result' column.
There might be a case to have a new column to reflect True or False instead. You can raise a request to have it added.
