What’s new in DataMiner 10.6.10?

With every DataMiner Feature Release, we introduce improvements and new capabilities that help you get more value out of your system. In this post, we highlight the most noteworthy additions to DataMiner 10.6.10.

Below, you’ll find a list of the new or improved features that are worth highlighting in this release. Each item links to relevant documentation where you can find more details.

  • The Credentials Library, DataMiner’s built-in key vault feature, is becoming more secure and more deeply integrated across the platform:
    • All credentials managed through the Credentials Library are now protected with encryption at rest and stored as authenticated ciphertext in a dedicated encrypted store, providing an extra layer of security.
    • Automation scripts can now pull credentials directly from the Credentials Library at runtime, making it easier to securely use usernames, passwords, and access tokens without embedding sensitive information in script code.
    • A backup password now allows encrypted credentials to be securely restored on another DataMiner System when needed.

COMING SOON: The Credentials Library will continue to expand across the platform. In DataMiner 10.6.11, GQI extensions will also be able to retrieve credentials directly from the Credentials Library.

  • You can now choose to always display Visio drawings in the light theme, even when Cube is running in dark mode. This brings back an experience similar to the previous mixed theme interface and allows existing Visio drawings to remain optimized for a light background without requiring dark mode adjustments.
  • Ad hoc data sources can now have static columns by using the GQIStaticColumns attribute. This allows GQI to expose columns without requiring irrelevant input arguments.
  • Several improvements have been made to the User-Defined APIs module:
    • User-defined APIs are now more resilient thanks to automatic validation and repair of the IIS rewrite rule that reroutes requests to custom API endpoints. If the rule is missing, disabled, or altered, it is restored automatically, helping ensure your user-defined APIs continue to work even after external changes to the IIS configuration.
    • User-defined APIs can now generate notices when an API token exceeds its configured rate limit. Administrators can use these notices to identify and address potential issues more quickly.
