When using STaaS, what happens if connectivity to the cloud is lost?

We understand that DataMiner buffers data locally and uploads it to STaaS after connectivity is restored.

What user-visible and system-level impacts should be expected during the outage? For example:

Operator experience in Cube/Web Apps
Alarming and monitoring behavior
Trending and historical data availability
Automation execution
Effects of extended outages and any buffering limitations
