Hi all,

we try to link the Prismon full multiview video thumbnail to a shape in visio. (don’t mind the missing signals)

We’re using this shape data:

Link: #http://DMA_IP/VideoThumbnails/Video.htm?type=Generic Images&source=http://PRISMON_IP/preview/01/full&refresh=2500

Outcome in visio: Error fetching image: TrustFailure

When linking to just one video of the multiview with the following shape data, it works fine.

Link: #http://DMA_IP/VideoThumbnails/Video.htm?type=Generic Images&source=http://PRISMON_IP/webui/image/service/03/video/1&refresh=2500

Does anybody know if it is possible to link to the Prismon full multiview video thumbnail or if there are any restrictions?

R&S Prismon Protocol: 1.0.0.14_B2

R&S Prismon SW vers.: 2.24.0

Hi Peter, at first sight this looks like there might be a difference in handling of the connection security between the single channel and the multiviewer. Is the Prismon device configured to use https instead of http, or maybe to forward http traffic to https? Have you tried to change the used URL to https?
Do you notice any differences when opening these links from a browser?

Peter Lanzl [DevOps Advocate] commented 8th November 2024

Hi Michiel, thanks for your quick response. There seems to be some kind of configuration on the Prismon regarding http/https connections. But it's called "force ssl for all connections", so I would expect the same behavior in both cases. We still try to figure this out.
After changing the URLs to https, both links show the same "error fetching image…" message in visio. But both links with https URL can be displayed in Firefox on the dataminer server.

Hi Peter,
I see that this question has been inactive for some time. Do you still need help with this? If not, could you select the answer (using the ✓ icon) to indicate that no further follow-up is needed?

As you’re getting a “Trust Failure” error, it could be that Dataminer does not like the SSL certificate presented by the Prismon, by default it uses a self-signed certificate, so you could try either trusting that certificate or generating a signed certificate and uploading it to the Prismon
