After applying the license when I am trying to connect with Dataminer Cube using localhost after giving credentials one error is coming.
I have attached the error screenshot. Can anyone please help me to solve this issue. I have disabled firewall and restarted the system. I am still facing this issue.

Hi,

The HTTP timeout exception means that Cube was not able to retrieve the connectionsettings.txt file.

Since you made some configuration changes in IIS, would it be possible to share which bindings you currently have configured? It could also be usefull to have a look at the Cube logging (the DataMiner logging won’t help in this case, as Cube is not even able to set up a connection).

Kind regards,

Can you try replacing “* type=RemotingConnection;polling=0;zip=true” with “* type=GRPCConnection;serverport=443;endpoint=/APIGateway”? You will most likely have to setup HTTPS on IIS. You can follow this guide “https://docs.dataminer.services/user-guide/Advanced_Functionality/DataMiner_Agents/Configuring_a_DMA/Setting_up_HTTPS_on_a_DMA.html” and this Kata “https://community.dataminer.services/courses/kata-29/”

Ashok Mahala [DevOps Member] commented 18th September 2024

But i have not done any GRPC setup what should i do any reference document or video.

Ashok Mahala [DevOps Member] commented 18th September 2024

I have did the setup of https in IIS , i have applied self signed license also. After that when i tried to access the page using browser url with HTTPS it is giving error

This site can’t be reachedThe webpage at https://localhost/connectionsettings.txt might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
ERR_SSL_KEY_USAGE_INCOMPATIBLE

Edib Šupić [SLC] [DevOps Catalyst] commented 18th September 2024

I think just configuring this file is enough to enable GRPC, and regarding your issue with certificate you will need to configure bindings for IIS, make sure your certificate is valid, and move it to Trusted folder in certificates manager. Certificates are delicate issue and might take some trial and error

Ashok Mahala [DevOps Member] commented 18th September 2024

I have tried all the possible ways nothing is working. If you can give a clear guidance it will be very helpful to continue my learning.

Hi Ashok,

others have experienced similar issues before, for them issues were mostly related to firewall settings. Can you check out this post and see if it helps?

If the previous post doesn’t help you solve the issue can you have a look at some of these?

Hope this helps and let me know if you need anything else,

Cheers

P.S.

Please let me know how you resolved your issue(I’m curious), hopefully you will 😀

Hello Edib, I am not able to get anything much relevant from the questions you have shared. When i am trying to access the same URL from my browser i am able to access these pages using http but not with HTTPS, In Cube side also i have configured as Http or Https then why it is trying to access https if http is working then i should be able to connect with http right? Can you please look into or clear me the steps what i have to do ?

Edib Šupić [SLC] [DevOps Catalyst] commented 18th September 2024

Hi Ashok,
Can you share your connectionsettings.txt and SLErrors.txt?

Ashok Mahala [DevOps Member] commented 18th September 2024

Yes I can, Please share me the mail where I have to share because here I can only attach media files.

Edib Šupić [SLC] [DevOps Catalyst] commented 18th September 2024

You can just copy them here, I would suggest in a new comment instead under this one so you can format it a bit more nicely(it won’t be perfect either way, just nicer). You understand I can’t just post my mail here 😀
